National Parks of Arunachal Pradesh

(i) Namdapha Nation Park

Namdapha National Park is the largest national park in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, and its area is fully protected and restricted as per wildlife rules and regulations. Namdapha Park, situated in the Miao Subdivision of Changlang District, covers a total area of 1985 square kilometers.

The landscape of Namdapha National Park is sheer rainforest. A variety of animals are found there, like Hoolock gibbons, Takin, crappies, Musk deer, a variety of birds, and four different species of wild cats.

The park was established in October 1972, was designated a Tiger Reserve by the Government of India on March 15, 1983, and was later designated a World Heritage Park by UNESCO in 1986.

(ii) Mauling National Park

Mouling is composed of two words, "Mo and Yaling," where "Mo," which comes from "among," means "soil/land," and "yaling" means "red." Therefore, "Mouling" can also be called "red soil."

It is the second national park created after Namdapha National Park. It is one of the vast, unmodified natural areas in the Upper Siang district and touches parts of the West and East Siang districts. It was created on December 30, 1986, and is spread across a large area of 483 square kilometers.

The different species of animals found in Mauling Nation Park are the black bear, clouded leopard, takin, serow, goral, and various bird species, etc, are some of the main wild animals in the park.
